 Our growing business is looking for an Administrative Assistant to assist at our Main Office in Valparaiso, IN. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and well-organized with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Essential Functions:

  • Assist with routine clerical duties

  • Answer multi line telephone & distribute incoming correspondence to appropriate personnel

  • Handle requests for information and data from both customers and sales staff

  • Assist with timely processing of customer orders, including order fulfillment, shipping / receiving and relabeling of packaging before delivery to customer

  • Maintains database information, such as mailing lists, vendors, etc. in applicable format

  • Assist in booking travel for the company (hotels, rental cars, flights, etc.)

  • Maintain office supplies and order when necessary

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality related to private and confidential business matters

  • Assist Sales Manager and Service Manager as needed

  • Other job related duties and assignments as specified by supervisor or management


Education, Experience & Skilled Required:

  • High School diploma; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Self-starter, high level of initiative

  • Able to work both independently and with a team

  • Ability to use modern office equipment such as personal computer, copier and scanner

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills, primarily when dealing with the public

  • Proficiency of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Familiar with Google Sheets & Google Calendar

  • Ability to multi task in a fast-paced environment

  • Fire industry knowledge a plus
